Jamaica

Jamaica is an island country situated in the Caribbean sea. As the massive tourism has had negative effects on the environment, people and local economy , the Jamaican government started to explore alternative tourism opportunities such as community-based tourism which contributes to members of the communities getting involved to protect their cultural and natural heritage and also benefit directly from the tourism activities. Community-based tourism  promoted the chance to experience “real” Jamaican culture which is very rich and has many visual and social attractions that every tourist would like to experience

The climate in Jamaica is tropical, with hot and humid weather, although higher inland regions are more temperate. Some regions on the south coast, such as the Liguanea Plain and the Pedro Plains, are relatively dry areas.

The average daily temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The nicest weather is in the dry period from January to April. The sun shines often and sometimes some clouds appear which grow into a rainstorm. The weather is the friendliest during this period.

During the wet period you can expect days with grey, wet and windy weather. Most of the rain falls in the periods May-June and September-November, depending on the location and altitude the amount of precipitation varies. Especially in the higher parts in the east of the island there can be considerable more rainfall.
