We are fully committed in the development of rural areas in Armenia through the development of rural tourism, with a special focus on the contribution to social and solidarity economy in the development of that sector. MIASSINE has, in particular developed in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Investment, and funded by the Region Rhone-Alpes, the first Bed and Breakfast association in Armenia dedicated to strengthen the entrepreneurship capacities of its members to better respond to the expectations of foreign tourists and develop their activity.

In that context, MIASSINE will held on 20-25 October 2018 a new activity aiming at mapping opportunities and strengthening capacities for local development in rural areas through developing dynamic pole of rural development poles.

The general objective is to strengthen the capacities of rural tourism actors to develop sustainable business plans and support integrated rural tourism development through facilitating a fruitful relationship between those actors, the financial and banking system and the relevant ministries and municipalities.

To that aim and in the framework of Francophonia Summit in Erevan we invite for the 5 days of the evaluation clinics frenchspeaking experts in rural tourism coming from Switzerland, to share their experience about what works or doesn’t work when developing a business plan for rural tourism development. The Mayor of Grand Saconnex, Canton of Geneva, Switzerland, Bertrand Favre will head this delegation.

This expertise is combined with the approach of the International Labour Organization in developing integrated strategies for local economic development. Espacially, that local experts from the financial and banking sector and from relevant ministries will provide context specific information about the legal and policy framework in Armenia and the funding opportunities.
