Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan, officially the Kyrgyz Republic, also known as Kirghizia, is a landlocked country in Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan has made efforts to develop community-based tourism in recent years. As a result, participants adopted resolutions with a main point to join efforts of people working in community-based tourism in Osh and Naryn provinces into associations in order to address the challenges in the field of tourism. In addition, the participants developed recommendations for the Department of Tourism at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and information on the development of this type of tourism.

Kyrgyzstan has a continental climate with large temperature differences throughout the country. Overall it's a super sunny country with some regions that experience more than 2,900 hours of sunshine per year. In January, the average temperature drops to freezing. Snow disappears in February or March, but up in the mountains the snow can often be seen until May.

Most rain falls in early spring. During summer it is warm and on some days the temperature will rise above 35 degrees Celsius (95°Fahrenheit). In the mountains it remains considerably cooler, depending on the altitude the temperature can go down to around freezing even in summer.
