Tajikistan Pamir Horse Adventure Community Tourism Organization
Pamir Horse Adventure is a local community-based tourism organisation in Tajikistan. It brings together tour guides and service providers to help sustainable tourism and to create jobs for local people. We organise jeep tours, trekking, horse riding and cycling tours in the Pamirs (GBAO) and other regions of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Pamir Horse Adventure also strives to develop horseback trips and offers horse riding tours in Tajikistan.
Horses have always been part of the culture of the people in the Pamirs and elsewhere in Central Asia, however their number has decreased during the last century. Therefore, it is also one of our main goals to develop horse breeding in the region through promoting cultural events, traditional horseback sports and horseback tours. Most of our visitors have found horse riding one of the most exciting activities that they have ever participated in and have truly enjoyed the adventure.
Pamir Horse Adventure is pleased to offer and eager to share this exciting experience to the visitors of one of the most spectacular places on the Earth. All services and accommodation are provided by the locals. Guides, horsemen and other service providers are all local people, which ultimately provide valuable insight into the local culture and traditions. We also offer trekking and cycling to some of the best trekking destinations in Central Asia. Please refer to the respective sections on the website. We can always tailor-made your tour for you and let you have your own experience the way you want it. There are also tours with a fixed booking, which allows you to join a bigger group to make it more fun and to cut costs on transportation.
Mountain environment protection
Since the beginning, our tourism development endeavours went hand in hands with our concern for the environment. We are creating jobs for local communities by promoting sustainable tourism in order to improve the livelihoods of the people who live in mountainous villages and towns in the region. On the other hand, we are striving to preserve the biodiversity of the fragile mountain environment, especially the endangered species such as snow leopard. Our efforts won Pamir Horse Adventure the prestigious Mountain Protection Award 2014 for which we competed with many other companies from all over the world.
Finally, our community of guides is dedicated to developing mountaineering in our region. We are guides, drivers, horsemen, porters, cooks and also your friends and hosts, whenever you visit! We are happy to meet you and share with your our stories and hear from you!
We help and support guides across the region, train them and provide support for community-based tourism in remote villages in the Pamirs Mountains.
