Andean Lodges promotes sustainable Community-based Rural Tourism, based on key principles of sustainable development, fair social interactions and environmental conservation. The traditional communities of Chillca and Osefina are close associates in the company’s decision-making process and take part in 100% of our operations. Working with us, local people have job positions that allow them to preserve their ancestral customs and livelihood practices.
INTEGRATED TRAINING
Our work team is composed of women and men from our mountains, the inhabitants of the Chillca and Osefina communities, who receive constant training to work as guides, cooks, housekeepers, security guards and maintenance personnel, with the goal of preparing them to eventually take over all hiking operations, and thus ensuring their integration into a fair and responsible labor environment.
Thanks to this partnership, we have built four superb mountain eco-lodges, each well-appointed and designed for the comfort and relaxation of our visitors. In addition, the local people participate in operating each trip by accompanying our travelers on the hike along the Apu Ausangate Route. They share their knowledge of the sacred mountain and their cosmological perspective with visitors, along with sharing native products of the region.
